This melancholy but uplifting solo was written in the summer of 2005 for Sharon Jones, principal Euphonium with the Band of the Gloucestershire Constabulary.

Quite a straightforward blow for most of the band, the lyrical melody requires a strong technique and plenty of stamina from the soloist, with its long legato phrases and slurred sevenths and octaves.
