Quintet by Matt Kingston £1.95
One of Debussy's
most popular, and certainly most playful, compositions, greatly
influenced by Ragtime music.
Written for his daughter Emma-Claude (known as Chou-Chou),
the piece contains several tongue-in-cheek references to Wagner's
Tristan and Isolde.
Although originally written for piano (from the suite 'Children's
Corner'), the music adapts superbly for brass, with its sudden
dynamic changes and playful acciacaturas.
Add
a touch of humour to your concert repertoire with this lively
quintet.
