Liberty
Bell
by John Philip Sousa (1854-1933)

Quintet by Matt Kingston £1.95
Sousa - popularly
known as "the March King" - wrote over 100 marches,
of which the Liberty Bell is perhaps the best known.
Composed in 1893,
the main theme is said to have originated as a whistling tune,
rather like Alford's Colonel Bogey.
The
tune has also become synonymous with Monty Python's Flying
Circus.
I had great fun transcribing this from the original marching
band scores, and hope you will have as much fun playing it!
