Matt Kingston is a versatile and prolific arranger of brass music.
A largely self-taught composer, he learned to play trumpet at the age of seven, and began to compose not long afterwards.
In his early twenties, he worked as an assistant to the composer Jaz Coleman, gaining valuable experience of both the popular and classical music worlds, and working with other artists including the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra.
His career as a music arranger has seen him produce over 200 published arrangements, mainly for brass ensembles and beginners. His music has been performed on six continents, in venues ranging from cathedrals to rugby stadiums, as well as appearing on numerous cd recordings, TV and radio broadcasts.
Matt has also co-written an acclaimed series of beginner tutor books for beginner brass and woodwind players. When not writing music, he is usually to be found conducting or singing it! |
