Music for Brass Dectet - "Ten for Ten" |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
It's been great fun arranging this music, although my choice of pieces to arrange changed almost daily! I've tried to provide as much variety as possible, so there are light hearted swings and galops amongst the classics. Some of them - Saint-Saens exotic Bacchanale, for instance - are very well known. Others are more obscure gems, which it was a pleasure to find. Particularly Elgar's sublime Sursum Corda, which I hadn't heard until a few weeks ago. I was blown away by it's sweeping, majestic melody; it's up there with Nimrod as one of his most stirring compositions. You'll find some extra transposed parts, so you can play these pieces using orchestral or brass band instruments. And the additional percussion arts add an extra bit of oompf. Let's hope you'll enjoy playing these arrangements as much as I enjoyed writing them. |
